The New Beginnings Children’s Home is a child-placing agency & residential child-care facility with limited private placement available. Working to restore families and protect abused children.*
Families in crisis case management is provided through the New Beginnings Program. The families will be taught through the “A New View of You” curriculum.
“A
New View of You” is a faith-based life skills mentoring course with
corresponding courses for children and adolescents. Bi-weekly support
groups are provided free of charge.

first announced the building of the Canaan Land Ranch Children’s Home
at the February 25, 2007 Families in Crisis Church Fair. This Fair is
one of the initiatives established by the Blue Ribbon Child Abuse Prevention Taskforce.
The Taskforce was established in 2004 in response to the epidemic
number of child abuse cases in Bexar County. The Taskforce is made up
of numerous public and private agencies dedicated to addressing child
abuse in Bexar County.
In 2004 New Life Christian Center and the
New Beginnings Program became members of the Taskforce’s Community
Partnerships Committee, chaired by 288th District Court Judge Lori
Massey.

“A Place of Love, Hope and Restoration”
Canaan Land Ranch is an initiative of the New Life Christian
Ministry. It is a proposed premier restorative destination for
resort, recreational and rehabilitative facilities and programs in the
San Antonio area.
Nestled in the Medina County countryside, just northwest of San
Antonio, the resort will provide a rehabilitative environment in a
Texas ranch setting. A unique Jewish cultural theme will run
through the resort, providing a holistic spiritually renewing
environment.
Canaan Land will provide corporations, community groups, churches and
other organizations a place to conduct extended retreat conferences and
recreational events. Exclusive resort membership packages will
allow for different levels of access and benefits. The banquet
hall, activity center, bowling alley, amphitheatre, outdoor
recreational area and unique Hebraic bed and breakfast, provide comfort
for extended stays with diverse facilities for numerous activity
options. Outdoor activities will include swimming, picnicking,
fishing, hiking, horseback riding, recreational games, outdoor
concerts, obstacle course ropes team building training programs and a
skeet range.
The resort has a community development partnership with the
International Community Development Corporation (ICDC). Featured
initiatives of this partnership are; New Beginnings Program, a Families
in Crisis outreach, Rites of Passage, a young men’s mentoring
initiative and the Development Institute, a life skills educational
institution. These initiatives will maintain, operate and utilize
facilities at the resort. The ongoing activities and services
provided by the partnership add value to its community through outreach
initiative efforts.
